California Odyssey is proud to announce our new Individual Training Program (ITP)!
Odyssey believes that player development is achieved through balancing the player’s body equally on both sides, physically and technically. We believe that developing a fully balanced player leads to an increased technical ability and higher confidence with the ball, which in turn leads to more success and enjoyment of the game. The ITP is designed for the player who strives for more than the standard 2 practice per week training set up.
The ITP is geared specifically for those who strive to improve their technical ability, ball skills, fitness, speed, and strength. The ITP is split into two groups; Level 1 and Level 2 (Level 1 consisting of higher level competitive players).
Each program is set up to best suit each player’s individual needs incorporated within small group training (minimum of three players). It is highly recommended that groups be formed before hand with teammates/friends. There will be three age-groups; 6-8 year olds, 9-11 year olds, and 12-14 year olds. Each player will receive an ITP T-shirt, shorts, and socks. Additional benefits are specified between the six and twelve week programs. All sessions will be run by dedicated, qualified, and experienced Professional Coaches.
The ITP emphasizes consistent training within the Club’s developmental curriculum, with a new and different twist to the Club’s core curriculum. This helps ensure the highest potential of success for that player within their team, and within the Club/Academy. The ITP also sets a consistent fee that is fair and universal throughout the Club.
*Odyssey discourages training individually with a player’s own coach. This avoids the awkward situation of both the parents and the coach regarding influence with their child’s playing time. Odyssey also disagrees with the one-off training sessions with individual coaches, feeling that these are one time learning sessions instead of consistent, long term development of that player.
