Announcing long-term partnership with San Jose Earthquakes boys and girls Development Academy

California Odyssey Soccer Club is pleased to announce that it has entered into a long-term partnership with San Jose Earthquakes Developmental Academy on both the boys and girls teams effective immediately.

Andres Deza, the Earthquakes Girls Academy Director says, "We are looking forward to working with California Odyssey SC as part of our Girls Development Academy Partners in Development Program in sharing training curriculum, content and at the clubs recommendation providing USDA program training and playing opportunities to players in the Odyssey program."

Selected Odyssey players will have the opportunity to train and be evaluated by the Academy staff at the Earthquakes.  Qualified players will be invited back on either a monthly, or weekly basis to train both with the Earthquakes and Odyssey on a consistent basis. Selection and recommendations will be made by the DOC's.  The program offers top level exposure to deserving players without having to initially up root their lives locally.  Upon successful completion of the "evaluation" process, the players would continue to split their training between both clubs to alleviate the travel burden.

As part of the agreement, the clubs will have a shared vision of game model which means there will be a shared philosophy in style of play across all the teams in the club.  There will also be a curriculum and methodology alignment across all age groups allowing for Odyssey players to integrate seamlessly into the Development Academy programming. Coaches training and development will allow our coaches to attend clinics hosted here on site by the Earthquakes staff  and any sessions or clinics being hosted by the Earthquakes in San Jose.

Current DOC Vitalis Otieno says, "This partnership highlights our long term goal and commitment to a holistic player development model with emphasis on individual player development at the early stages morphing into the competitive stage in their pre-teen years."  He adds, "with this joint venture we get to provide our players a clear pathway to the elite level of the game, furthermore, our players get exposed to top training and quickly find out where they rate among their peers and hopefully continue to work on improving their game.
